vista boot loop

Vista will not start. Once it gets to the windows loading screen it shuts down and restarts. I have it installed on a USB 2.0 Harddrive. My system definately meets specs:
P4 3.0ghz 1.5gb ram nVidia Geforce 7800GT (256mb) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

MMM...that's annoying...wish I knew that before I wiped the drive...

I had a similar problem with my SATA drives. I had to low level format them in order to get everything to install properly.
